Lera as Mazda
Last week Saturday (7/16), Lera held a press conference announcing her status as Safta’s new Mazda. It was broadcast live on the internet. Pretty much all of the Nenakret, Mianeh, and anyone paying attention to Zenderael news Earthside or Zenside will have seen it. Most news stations across the world (Earthside) have also included this in their evening report.
The Zenderean Census continued
The first batch of official Zenderean IDs are out. A few scuffles between the Queen’s Guard and Zendereans have broken out, but nothing serious has thus far happened.
The census remains on-going.
Damn, Nature, you scary
Sea monsters continue to plague various Earth naval fleets and shipment barges. Island states and nations are experiencing shortages of supplies. A ceirean, a gigantic sea serpent large enough to eat seven whales for a meal, shuts down the Hong Kong International Airport after damaging its support structure. It is now slowly sinking into the ocean.
Wild Lamia Appeared!
After a few mysterious deaths in Fall City/Underwood, which were written off as monster attacks, on Sunday morning investigators stumble upon an abandoned storefront in Underwood housing three bodies and one survivor. The lone survivor has been hospitalized; he is comatose with no apparent reason for his steadily-worsening condition.
Any magic-user who gains access to him would be able to tell immediately that the problem is magical in nature. If the enchantment isn’t broken before Wednesday, he’ll be found dead in his hospital bed that morning. If it is, he’ll be able to offer information on a young woman named Amy who recently wormed her way into his life.
There’s a lamia on the loose, boys.
According to lore, lamia are monstrous snake-women who magically disguise themselves as beautiful young women and lure men away to feed on them. They prefer men aged 20-30, but this lamia doesn’t seem to be as picky as lore suggests. Any male, non-caster class characters in Underwood or Fall City may fall victim to her entrapment. “Amy”, as she is calling herself, will pick a few victims and start spending an awful lot of time with them, weaving an enchantment that makes them feel enamoured with and protective of her.
This IC week, she’ll be building up a new base of victims. Next IC week, she’ll be luring them away to her new den, where they’ll be enchanted into a coma that will slowly drain their life force over the course of five days, until they’re dead. Better hope their friends come looking and find them before that happens!
If you would like to volunteer your character as a victim for the lamia, please comment here to work the details out with Chibi! NPCs that PCs would care about (such as brothers, friends, etc) may also be volunteered, as long as they are 15+ years of age.
Shacking up with the sins
At the request of the Mano, mages and spellswords of Days’ End use the clay and water from the earth and river to seal up as many trees with petrified individuals inside as they can. This is the best protection they can afford to give before leaving with the Armaiti.

The Mano has instructed any non-hunters or non-spellswords to room with one, so the assassins can’t stealth around their rooms without being spotted. She also gave the hunters a short talk on Saturday that basically amounted to fuck Aerveas with a rusty knife and if the hunters are going down, then they’re dragging the druids with them.
Assassins will be provisioning hunters and berserkers to the best of their ability, but their armourer only deals in leather, and their weapons favour sleek and bladed. However, berserkers and hunters will be given room to work to fashion their own gear, and allowed access to the assassins’ raw materials. (But also expected to contribute some raw materials of their own, in return.)
There’s talk of a retaliation, and it has the Armaiti’s full support. There are no details yet, but preparations are being made. The hunters have thus far transitioned smoothly into their current role.

They're generally not using official equipment; the armor and weapons aren't military issue. The exception is the GIGN guys, who are obviously using Earth weaponry, but they're special forces types who get special equipment when they ask nicely. They have some heavy shit; Villiers requisitioned a couple of man-portable anti-tank weapons that can be taken apart and put together.
Not sure when they'd arrive; they leave Monday and can get there whenever. Lera is gonna write the Ahura about it and Malachai knows as well. If their services are turned down, they're gonna lie low and engage in some basic sabotage and shit.

his immune system is utter shit, he can't be out in the sun or risk utter overexposure, has astigmatism & engorged blood vessels in his eyes (why they're red) that reduce his vision to 20/200-400 ish

Jamie is healthy beyond his eyes and immune system and it'd make sense for the lamia to assume he's healthy, since white hair/red eyes is apparently common in Zen.

basic rundown is she'll select him during a first 'meeting'. her powers will make him interested in talking to her right away, then over that meeting he may wind up looking forward to seeing her again (depending on how long the meeting goes). Then she'll start stalking him to orchestrate run-ins when he's not around people he knows, and work on increasing the enchantment through those meetings.
