Submitting an application
Post your completed application in the comments here, either as a series of comments or as a link.
Then e-mail the app to zenderael@gmail.com, with the character's name in the subjectline.
Yes, we want you to post them and e-mail them. The post is so that other players can see them, and the e-mail is so that the mods can easily organize and search without having to scour a bunch of comments.
Post a top-level comment with the character’s name in the subjectline. Please post the app from their character journal. This makes it easy on us as mods to update all the info and get your character invited to the comms.
Notes on apping
Because Zenderael and the Earth have merged, you can apply for characters who were native to Earth or to Zenderael. Characters from Earth need not have played the game, while characters from Zenderael can be player-made or native (essentially, they were NPCs when it was an MMORPG). You do not need to app a Zenderael character as the former alt of an Earth native, but you can do so. Please tell us if you do this.
Apps
We have two different apps because we have two types of appable characters.
Zenderael Native Characters
Earth Native Characters
Zenderael Native Characters
These characters originate from Zenderael, be it as formerly played characters or NPCs. While the vast majority of Zendereans were never played by someone, there are no restrictions on whether your character was formerly an NPC or alt. The merges may have caused them to go to Earth before the worlds finally combined. If this was the case, please let us know.
PBs for these characters can be real life actors or 2D/CGI.
Earth Native Characters
These are characters that originate from Earth. They may have played the game, or only become aware of Zenderael in a meaningful sense after it began noticeably (and disastrously) merging with the Earth. Since then, they have gained access to class powers by joining guilds, just like Zenderael natives. Characters from Earth could have been sent to Zenderael before.

Noelle Kendall (npc-->rp)
PB: Rei Ayanami; NGE: Record of Heaven's Descent (recolor)
Level: 90
Class: Hunter
Build: Combat
RP? NPC? RP
Misc: When Noelle is alone, she's secure in who she is, her core, her identity, her Noelle. Quiet but capable, independent but sympathetic, distant, perhaps, but not untouchable. She has a genuine love for people, for animals, for the very earth, ocean and sky of Zenderael, but to one of these she is piss poor at making it known.
Yep, it's the first. People. As soon as someone enters the equation not as their role but as themselves, Noelle loses her place. Her foundation is shaken, her self-confidence flickers, and she worries about the most nonsensical of things. Is the way she's standing coming off as aggressive? Is she offending the other person? Her performance drops several levels. As strong as her desire to connect to people is, it seems she simply is unable to do it. In fact, the strength of that desire only serves to bring more pressure on herself. Noelle is constantly the outsider looking, wishing to be a part of something greater than herself in terms of society, but always failing. It's a combination of not meeting personalities compatible with hers and Noelle's own self-fulfilling prophesy on her failures with people.
Noelle contemplates trying her hand at taming a wild animal for companionship, but she also tells herself that her lifestyle would not be kind to an animal because she's never in one place for long, and she can never make guarantees for anything. That's most of her reasoning. A small portion of it is a fear of rejection and failure.
Personality keywords: honest, genuine, kind, without place, consistent, predictable, practical, technical and literal to a fault, left brained, worrywart, socially inept, loyal, lonely, virgo.
Noelle doesn't have much of a backstory on her. Most likely it's something that Jordan will build up if she maintains close CR.
Misc misc: she sleeps in trees most of the time and lives by foraging and hunting unless she has business in a populated area. Loves, loves spicy food. It's a treat for her.
Accepted!
Yonca Ulle
PB: Inga; Un-Go
Level: 1 → 20
Class: Mage
Build: Disrupt/combat (because Jordan will go stir-crazy if she can't deal decent damage)
RP? NPC? RP
Misc: Before Yonca the mage, there was Sonya the cleric. Sonya was an intelligent women whose curiosity would often get her into trouble with the higher ranking clerics, but garnered her favor with the alchemists she pestered. Eventually she found herself in a group of alchemists that strove to find and push the limitations of life and death. To defy death both by immortality and by revival. Though the majority of the group was made of alchemists, there were a few other classes. Yonca was the sole cleric. She was to unearth and relay whatever knowledge she could of the cleric's ability to bring people back from the dead. It was a difficult task (and that's putting it mildly.) Even as she climbed the ranks, the topic of resurrection was such a tight-lipped secret that she could only provide them with vague hints that she herself swiped from conversations and notes.
After several years, the group realized they would get nothing useful from the clerics. They decided to post-pone resurrection and instead focus on immortality. It ended horribly. Their attempt to tamper with life and time backfired on them in different ways. Some of them straight up died. Some of them aged 10, 20, 40 years in minutes and some found the reverse to happen to them. A few of them aged or deaged to the point of death or non-existence.
Everyone who survived found their recollection of the last several hours before the backfire skewed. Of the backfire itself they remembered very little. Sonya, who was 38 at the time, was thrown back 24 years in time. Luckily, it was only her body that reverted, though that posed different sorts of challenges to her. She also lost sight in her right eye.
A few of the group decided to fade into obscurity for a few years. They picked up new identities and new occupations. Sonya became Yonca. No longer able to continue with her clerical work as the project had severed her tie to Xumurdad's heart, Yonca joined the mage's guild. After all, she never did lose her sense of curiosity, and hoped that instead of the secrets of life and death she might learn the rules of reality so that she could break them on her whim.
It's been five years since then, and though she would now be considered nineteen, Yonca doesn't look it. While she was a slow maturer the first time around, it wouldn't be an inaccurate guess to say the project has lingering affects. It annoys her to no end. Yonca misses her fabulous set of boobs.
In that time she has also been recruited by Bohun Upas as a reluctant Fourth. Apparently some of her ex-comrades had taken loans from them and had failed to pay them back in full. Yonca grouchily sells simple enchantments and mixtures to pay her share.
As an aside, there are flickers in time where Yonca reverts back to her 38-year-old body, but they are far and few between, and seem to have no rhyme or rhythm to them. It never lasts more than an hour. Talks with the other survivors have confirmed similar occurrences with themselves. They have yet to pinpoint a common catalyst. For many of them, including Yonca, it is incredibly frustrating.
Personality keywords: self-centered, cowardly, casual, shrewd, quick to blame others, inconsiderate, tunnel vision, nonjudgmental, vain, generally unreliable unless she has something at stake, chaotic neutral. She doesn't like to dwell on the consequences of her actions on others because she doesn't like feeling guilty. Yonca's conscious exists, but it tends to be second to her personal interests.
Appearance: 5'9", lanky. It's like she's a mold that hasn't been filled yet. Her cup size is an A and mentioned here because Yonca has serious concerns that she will not return to her regular C. (Priorities, she has them.) Under her right bangs is a huge black splotch around her eye that appeared the same time she de-aged. It almost looks like a mild chemical burn.
Accepted!
Aleissa Saunders
PB: Inga; Un-Go → Homura; Sekirei (recolor)
Level: 40
Class: Mage
Build: Disrupt/Combat
RP? NPC? RP
Misc:
Because Yonca is her second highest character (now) and she does not know 1) if/when the siege on Bastan will end and 2) if character level plays a role in crossing over, Jordan has decided to trash Yonca's character and start over. She has also paid for a cosmetic and name change.
Like Yonca, this Alessia used to be a cleric named Sonya Adessi that eventually defected to the mage's guild. That is where their similarities end.
The Adessi family had a long history of exorcism and Sonya followed the tradition of becoming a holy warrior for the church. They held special contemptment for vrylaks, and even more for the humans who would postpone death with them, seeing the act as a defiance to the natural cycle of life. Their speciality was, then, the eradication of vrylak populations and rogue molavvas.
It was on such a mission that Sonya's life was deigned FUBARed. Vepha seemed to have it in for them that day. Their whole team was nearly wiped out. Every cloud has a silver lining, though. Right?
Senior exorcist Alan Jacques thought so. Seeing an opportunity to claim for the church a weapon they'd never once possessed , he force fed a dying Sonya the heart of a vrylak, then watched with delight as she fell into a mindless rage and slaughtered whatever -- and whoever -- remained standing. He kept himself safe in a holy barrier and she, on instict, avoided it.
Once Sonya regained her senses, she wished for nothing but death. Alan, however, convinced her that her condition need not be wasted -- that it could be used for the greater good, to fight fire with fire, so to speak, and give the church an advantage in battling vrylaks and molavvas. Believing there to be a Reason why she'd been inflicted with what she regarded as a curse, for if she didn't then she'd certainly go mad, Sonya obeyed.
She was not, however, a mindless puppet. When she was certain that she had cleansed the world of vrylaks, Sonya fully intended to kill herself. Alan had other plans. After several years of work and strenuous existance (keeping Sonya safe from the holy magic she surrounded herself with daily as well as containing the knowledge of what she was to a select few), Alan attempted to broaden her horizons -- to heretics.
To people.
Sonya was unconvinced. It took very little after that change in tune for her to break her contract with the guild and go into hiding. That didn't please the church, of course. Sonya spent years dodging their furious hands. She was spared by Vante, evening the score his sister had skewed: the church had grasped someone (or something) else so heavily that the remains could not be identified. Tired of the chase, they reported that Sonya had been contained.
The church moved on. So did Sonya, but never did her goal falter. She joined the mages as Aleissa, barreling through their theories with grim determination. (What was madness when she was that which she'd grown up to kill?) As soon as she was able to manipulate fire, Yonca continued her vrylakian genocide. It was slow going now that she worked alone, but it was going.
She was turned at twenty-five. She severed her ties with the church three years after that. Three more were spent on the run. She has been a mage for seven years and a molavvas for thirteen. The only reason she hasn't lost her clarity yet is because of her upbringing and firm belief that she must achieve her goals. She cannot die trying. She cannot rest until she succeeds.
Personality: committed, enduring, sympathetic, soft, unwavering, religious, patient, slow to anger, high morals, serving, trustworthy, lawful good.
Appearance: Blonde hair, green eyes. Androgynous body type sans her chest area, sinewy build. Five feet eleven inches. Often found in garments that conceal her muscles (nothing compared to a melee class, but noticeable for a mage.)
