Because Beth clearly didn't have her hands full enough with Gabe, this means she needed to add a new member to the crazy farm.

Everybody, meet Eileen!

Eileen has lived in Underwood ALL HER LIFE and is convinced nothing exciting has ever happened there until fairly recently. (Sorry, Alison, but the riots and people destroying your shop are probably the most exciting things to ever happen in Underwood and she's sorry she missed it. >>) She currently lives with three housemates, all of whom probably have a reputation for being a little strange as they're all LARPers (and, yes, so is Eileen). They also run an online shop called Swords and Stitches, which is full of all the boffer weapons, costumes, and chainmail you could probably ever want. Eileen herself heads up garb-related things, so if you ever want a pretty dress for a ren faire or something, go talk to her. However, be warned that she has a cat (there are usually pictures of him up on the shop-related blog), so if you have pet allergies, you probably don't want to buy from her.

If you've only met her online, she's calm, confident, and will basically tell you what you might need to hear, though she doesn't want to upset anybody. So if she's upset you or something, she'll immediately apologize for it. Offline, though, she is the quietest thing ever. It takes her a bit to warm up to people offline, but, once she does, she's really very sweet.

And this is Eileen's only alt: Anais Vallinar, a paladin who operates out of Bastan. She'll probably be patrolling the city a lot more now, considering all the plot things. If you've been in Bastan all your life, you'll probably know that Anais was all keyed up for the life of a cleric until her father died, at which point she decided her time would be better spent protecting the clerics as opposed to being one. She's been a paladin ever since. She kind of takes her job a bit too seriously, but I wouldn't recommend telling her that. That will probably earn you a swift whack with the flat end of her sword. >>

From an OOC standpoint, Eileen's been playing Anais probably since Zenderael came out, so if you've been in the game long enough, chances are very good you'll have seen her around, at the very least. Eileen's kind of a hardcore RPer, so Anais is IC at ALL TIMES. If she needs to break that for any reason, out come the brackets. Always. At the moment, she's also leagueless, though I'm tempted to see about adding her to the ranks of Righteous Dawn.

She does wander a bit, but mostly stays in the general area of the paladin barracks and surrounding grounds.

Victor was a paladin before he, you know, murdered six of his own unit that one time. Perhaps they knew each other? Before bloody betrayals, he was a respected paladin, if a bit more interested in the "spirit" of the rules than the actual rules.

If they knew each other, it's easy to see him being the one telling her to lighten up, and laughing it off when she bapped him. :|;

I could see them knowing each other somehow before, though. (And she bops you with the sword because she cares, Victor. :|)

His heart was always in the right place and he prioritized keeping people safe over anything else, which is how he got away with the occasional breach of protocol.

Lots of respect for Anais, though. The job's about protecting people. But, you could afford to take some time off before you burn yourself out.

Missie is intrigued by all this LARP and ren faire business. Do you get to wear pretty things? She likes pretty things.

While Missie is new to Zen and Fall City, she does have a little blog where she babbles about sewing, and some of her dolls have the bizarre sense of design that fits with monsters and mythology. (I don't know if LARPers have use for dolls, but tiny costumes could be adapted to larger ones and vice versa.) Possibly they kind of know each other already through online babbles?

You get to wear ALL THE PRETTY THINGS, Missie. :D Eileen only gets to break out the prettier things during downtime over weekend events and when she's wandering around faire grounds, but that's only because a dress isn't practical for whacking away at people with swords. She tried that once. Never again. She'll tell you as much if you ask.

Eileen does tend to make friends in sewing communities, so chances are pretty good they know each other through that. She probably bought something from Missie, come to think of it. (She'd have to keep her own personal Monster from using it as a cat toy, though. XD) If she did, I could totally see her promoting Missie on the Swords and Stitches blog.

Oh my goodness, that would make Missie so happy! She only has an Etsy shop, and Eileen has her own real shop and everything and she's so coooool. All the admiration for Eileen's online confidence, really. 8) And Missie takes commissions herself, so there could be an Anais doll or generally any kind of monster/familiar-prop.

You do! With foam weapons and shields and occasionally spell packet... things, but that's only if you're a mage. Eileen has more fun with the sword and shield combo.

Swords and Stitches probably started on Etsy, so it isn't like the two things are that different. XD Man, Missie, I hope you aren't too disappointed if you meet Eileen offline and find out she isn't quite that confident in real life. (Also, Eileen's kind of flailing over the idea of plush dolls of everybody's characters. >> She might be poking you about that at some point.)

Oh god I think that's the last thing Duncan needs (or wants) in his dorm room. XD Though Missie's welcome to tag along to an event. She'd have to go through preliminary fight training first, mind, but once she does and gets through a session or two, then she can pretty much be whatever she wants, providing it fits into the rules. Which... the mun still needs to figure out.

Hahaha, okay then! :D Once Eileen finds out Missie's in the area, they can arrange to meet and she can come with Eileen and the housemates to an event one weekend. Eileen has some loaner garb Missie can borrow until Missie figures out what she wants to play as. One of the housemates probably has some spare weapons she could use, too.

And apparently if you call her pretty to her face, Eileen will blush like crazy and try to hide behind things. She doesn't think she is.

Ali and Eileen totally need to know each other cause they both live in Underwood, have been playing Zen forever (Ali's only been playing a few years but maybe Eileen introduced her to it?), and Ali's a rennie so would probably be all over the shop.


Mal would know her through Zen, though, since he's been playing since close to start. :3

Oh, actually, Mal may have bought things from Eileen's shop online, before he knew where it was located, and then possibly gone in himself. He does a lot of costuming and has his own online shop too, does comissions for fancier Victorian-era stuff and a lot of steampunk stuff so uh THERE'S THAT

Haha oh god, Mal showing up would kind of make her want to die a little and she'd turn into this complete nervous ball around him. She thinks he's awesome and he's the sort of person she wants to be, so him buying stuff from her would make her the flailiest thing ever.

He doesn't do faires, but he does do conventions, and buys a lot of the accessories (hats, canes, pocket watches, etc, possibly some swords), either for specific costumes or just because they're cool. He does a lot of cosplay on top of the steampunk stuff, but mostly makes those himself, however they could possibly discuss fabric and suppliers and stuff? :3 Just. Doing an RP scene and then randomly break into a convo about 'man I have this fabric from x and it frays too easily, what would you do with it :|'

Would she read his comic at all?

Probably, but I can see her being ridiculously behind on it, too (between shop stuff and Zen and the LARP and the cat taking over her computer mouse). Steampunk isn't really her thing, but the clothes are pretty!

I am all for Ali and Eileen knowing each other in Underwood. Eileen and her housemates probably go to the Cafe a lot (though they weren't there for the chaos; they've been off at an event this past IC weekend), but Eileen would totally be all for making Ali things. (She might even ask Ali to model some of the stuff if she's okay with it.)

She also does weaving with goat wool for ren faire stuff if Eileen has any interest in possibly selling some of the stuff she makes - clothing would only be like shawl type things or such, mostly she does blankets, carpets, wall hangings and tent pieces (walls, drapes, dividers - beduin weaving). :3 Not a lot, mind, so it'd never be more than a few items at a time, but still! She does most of it for her beduin ren group. :3 (which she attends ALL FAIRES with)

She'd have to talk it over with the rest of the house, but she'd really have no problem if Ali wanted to sell some stuff like that with them. The most they've ever personally done in that direction were some banners, and that's about it. More variety never hurts anything! (Honestly, though, I can't see the rest of the house having any problems with it, either. >>)

They try to. Sometimes, they're successful in securing vendor space. Other times, they are not. When they do, they mostly bring the garb stuff, some armor, and a few generic banners. Occasionally boffer weapons sized for younger kids, but not often. Kyle (one of her housemates) is always worried the kids will go a little nuts if they have them.
