OOC News
The official RL:IC week ratio is now 3:1. All IC weeks are now 3 OOC weeks. Hopefully this will prevent us from falling behind the way we did in week 32 and 33!
Last Week...
The game timeline is up to date!
First of all, we missed some big events last week because we didn’t get them done until this week!
Namely, Akhilendra killed himself after he learned Alex was dead.
Nova had to deal with a corpse in his living room.
Duncan revived Ravindra at Iravati’s request.
Akhilendra and Ravindra both came back, inhabiting the same body at the same time. He’s still working that out for himself.
Going back into the recent last week, Chisaki and Nova continue their emotionally significant adventures.
The Undertow was hit by a typhoon, but Harriet used alchemist ingenuity to save it from getting wrecked.
The league Days’ End has been disbanded.
Iravati changed from assassin to spellsword.
Malachai Brampton became the new Vohu.
The Undertow has finally been restored to its natural state!
Harriet set up a masquerade and everyone was invited!
Ashtaroth was turned temporarily (so she thinks ahaha) into a raven.

Quick state of things update
The war is over. The Undertow has been restored. The hunter base is being occupied by Acher and his forces. The Armaiti is still missing (out in the Pacific Islands somewhere with Siegmund), and the assassin ziggurat is undergoing some cloak-and-dagger infighting along with the iceberg flooding and penguin occupation. Druids have a new Vohu. Rogues have a new Vairya, who is keeping to himself and indiscriminately guilding anyone who asks.
All Earth-guns have been turned into god-trees at this point. This includes larger artillery as well. This means there's a lot of god-trees around Fall City/Underwood/Bastan's borders because of the previous military cordon.
The general atmosphere around Zenderael is peacetime reconstruction. Everyone is trying to get back on their feet and piece things back together. There is some hostility on an interpersonal level against rogues and druids for their roles in the war, but on an official level all guilds are back on neutral terms (though cautiously neutral, in some cases).
Activity at Kandre Volcano
Kandre Volcano, located in Pakerion, starts showing some unusual rumblings on Thursday the 1st. Geologists are predicting a possible eruption, but can't be sure when it might happen. They've started monitoring it, with the help of a few druids who are consulting nearby nature spirits. The real trouble is that some of the wildlife around the area has started migrating away from the volcano, which means unusual monster presence throughout Pakerion, worst in the southeast.
Some of the monsters already created for Kandre Volcano include blazebeasts and great salamanders; you are free to make up others, as always. Places closest to the volcano are Enghelab and the assassin guild, but Giza/Undertow and the rogue and druid guilds will also be seeing some monster migration out their ways.
One Lucky Highroller
On Sunday, a woman named Lisa Martinez begins making outlandish bets in Enghelab/Las Vegas (Enghelas Vegas?). She successfully predicts the appearance of a pack of ridge fang wolves in the Saghar on Sunday, the eruption of a geyser in Everea on Wednesday, and the rumblings at Kandre Volcano on Thursday. She places ridiculously high bets on these things occurring, which pays off tremendously, making her fabulously wealthy. She rolls around Las Vegas flaunting her newfound wealth and basically just living in the top floor of the Bellagio.
Lisa has donated some of her money to reconstruction, especially in Bastan and the Undertow, though she has kept most of it for her own use. Characters may be aware of her name in conjunction with restoration funds. Unfortunately, her winnings have started angering the powers that be in Vegas--including casino owners and rogues who work for/with them. The Vairya has kept quiet about it, too, offering no official guidance. It's easy to overhear a great variety of rumours about her, speculating on how she got her wealth and what's going to happen to her if she's not careful. Feel free to make up any rumours you want your character to have heard, and you can be as outlandish or conservative with them as you like--they're only rumours, after all.
Vepha’s At It Again!
Apparently, Vepha decided that her fun at the masquerade should be just the start. She liked the masquerade so much that now people get to wear masks a little longer!
On Sunday, she starts playing a new prank: she switches people's bodies for a day! The affected people will find that they and another person have swapped bodies for twenty-four hours, which includes guild powers, god-organs, and any other physical conditions (such as blindness or being molavvas). After 24 hours, they will automatically switch back.
Given the fairly sensitive nature of this event, we will not HoM out any swaps. Instead, please work it out amongst yourselves OOCly (using the comments here is perfectly fine!), then tag this thread with who will be swapping and on what day. A character can swap bodies as many times as you would like, though the event will only run Sunday through Saturday and each swap will only last 24 hours.
If this isn’t your cup of tea, feel free to opt out!
A Different Kind of Merge Destruction
With the Armaiti out in Guam, the god-organ never found its way to an Earther in time to prevent a destructive merge. But wait--there was no natural destruction last week to warn of anything coming!
That's because this time what merged was SPACE, MOTHERFUCKERS. Zenderael and Earth's space has merged destructively, and the stars above seem to be crashing into each other. Meteor showers are visible most nights, containing all the colours and magic streaks of Zenderael space. Meteoroids do impact the ground in a few places, meaning they can cause some (minor, please!) damage, and can be collected for study.
If you want to collect and use some magical space dust (the technical term, most assuredly) for something, now is your chance. Comment below! Also, stargazing parties will be held all across Zenderael.
PLOT SIGN-UPS
We're going to be starting a long-term plot soon and we're asking for sign-ups now so we can organize things behind the scenes.
What it entails is basically collective nightmares that characters will have to escape. Not all characters will be hit at once and it'll roll in cycles, so we'd like to know who you'd most like your characters to get stuck with, and we'd also like to know a few of your characters' fears--great and small--that you'd like them to be confronted by. Characters will sleep and wake as normal (no one's getting stuck in the nightmare and unable to wake up or anything like that), but will enter the collective nightmare every time they sleep.
We will post more details with deeper specifics once we get closer to the event start. For now, please sign up here if you're interested. You will have the opportunity to opt-out once the event post goes up if you decide it's not something you're interested in after all!
