OOC News
Important heads-up! All characters who are not yet self-aware will become self-aware at the start of week #22. That's two weekchanges from now, toward the end of November OOC. At that point, the current alt app will become obsolete and new alts will be required to use the alternate alt app. The application page will be updated accordingly.
Last Week...
The game timeline is up to date!
Majestica has become real. Lei Wan is aware. The forum has been warned.
Missie is annoying to absolutely everybody. Mostly Ravindra.
But it's okay, Iravati is real now.
And she could stand to be a little more impressed with Earth.
Lera is introduced to characters and forced to accept Zenderael as a Thing, and has to roleplay Acher with everyone talking about Earth as A Thing.
Nova continues to gather information from every source imaginable.
Ravindra has informed the Spenta of his decision to return to Bastan.
Lera and Missie agree to be roommates. Moving commence!
Now that he's free, Nayan has been digging up tech and snooping out rumors.
Harriet and Duncan miss RP as an outlet.
Harriet and Jordan are attacked by a harpy. (Does that harpy help at all, Harriet?)
Jordan was caught in a disturbance and sent to Zenderael.
Next week...
SCHS Field Trip to FCU
Stephanie Cruiser high students are taking a field trip to FCU this week! It will be on Friday, first thing in the morning. If nothing else, students probably just agreed to go to get out of classes for the day.
What's on the agenda? Taking a look at the culture of Bastan, checking out the neat new architecture, hearing some speakers from ~*the other world*~, things like that. At least it's not math class, right?
There will be an event during the field trip. Both an OOC post containing more information and an IC post for the event will go up on the evening of Friday, November 2nd.
It will be feasible for non-students to get caught in the event just by happening to be on campus at the time. The dragon post office being close by gives you an excuse to have characters cut across campus to get there.
Don't make plans for IC Saturday, either. There will be a second mod post at the appropriate time to detail what happens on Saturday. (And it may not be relegated to Earth.)

Sunday morning, a cell phone tower appears in Mianeh, at the expense of a tree or two. It doesn't take long for alchemists to get it up and running, and then break it down to reverse-engineer it. By mid-week, alchemist tablets are updated to transfer information to one another within range of the tower's coverage, and multiple Zen-style towers have begun spreading past the confines of Mianeh.
The tablet upgrades require you to physically take your tablet to an alchemist for the upgrade, and there is a fee, but it's pretty mild for an adventurer.
Earth cell-phones will also be able to ride on this signal, though the coverage area is pretty small for now. It extends maybe 100 miles outside Mianeh by the end of the week. With a continent the size of Australia, that's not much. It also doesn't connect to anything Earthside, strictly Zen to Zen.
International Diplomacy
The Khshathra is visiting Bastan to speak with Queen Omid and the Vahishta and Spanta. She intends to discuss the changes going on in the world and how their countries can mutually benefit. She's already announced going to speak with King Aerveas next, after spending the week in Bastan.
She'll be arriving Monday afternoon and leaving Friday morning--except she wasn't supposed to leave Friday morning, and it seems nobody knows where she went. All they have to go on is that the Vahishta claims to have seen her sneaking out of the guest quarters early that morning.
A Formal Challenge
According to Pakerion rumor, the Ahura stormed the gates of King Aerveas' palace. With a rhino. He fought anywhere from zero to a hundred men to get in, depending on who you ask, but more importantly he delivered a challenge: if anyone wants control of the berserker guild and the Ahura, they can send their best champion or take it for themselves. On Friday, June 3rd, the berserker tournament will begin and last through the weekend.
Fliers began appearing in cities around the same time to spread the news. As with most Berserker Tournaments, there are more competitions than the one for the Ahura title, so it may be worth checking out even if you don't care for god stomachs. More information on that sideshow next week.
